Honda Hornet 2.0 Expert Review
The Honda Hornet 2.0 is designed as a premium streetfighter for riders
who want sporty styling with Honda’s well-known reliability.
Positioned above the older Hornet 160R, this motorcycle offers a
larger engine, improved suspension, and a more aggressive design.
With its sharp tank extensions, LED lighting, and golden USD forks,
the Hornet 2.0 stands out visually in the 180-200cc segment. The
design is inspired by larger naked motorcycles and gives the bike a
muscular road presence.
Engine & Refinement
The Hornet 2.0 is powered by a 184.4 cc air-cooled single-cylinder
engine producing 17.03 PS of power and 16.1 Nm of torque. The engine
focuses more on refinement and smooth power delivery rather than
outright performance.
Power delivery is linear and predictable, making the bike comfortable
for daily commuting as well as occasional highway rides.
Ride & Handling
One of the biggest highlights of the Hornet 2.0 is its upside-down
front suspension. The USD forks offer improved front-end stability and
sharper handling compared to traditional telescopic forks.
With a kerb weight of just 142 kg, the motorcycle feels light and
agile. This makes it easy to ride in traffic and convenient for new
riders upgrading from smaller motorcycles.
Braking Performance
The braking system consists of a 276 mm front disc and a 220 mm rear
disc supported by single-channel ABS. Braking performance is
predictable and confidence inspiring for everyday riding.
However, some riders may prefer dual-channel ABS which is offered by
certain competitors in the same segment.
Fuel Efficiency & Range
The Honda Hornet 2.0 delivers an ARAI-certified mileage of around 42
km/l. In real-world riding conditions, most riders can expect fuel
efficiency between 40 and 45 km/l depending on riding style.
With a 12-litre fuel tank, the bike can deliver an approximate riding
range of about 500 km on a full tank.
Comfort & Ergonomics
The riding posture is upright and comfortable, making the bike
suitable for daily commuting. The seat height of 790 mm ensures
accessibility for a wide range of riders.
Overall, the Honda Hornet 2.0 offers a balanced combination of style,
reliability, and everyday usability.
