KTM 200 Duke Expert Review
The KTM 200 Duke continues to be one of the most exciting motorcycles
in the 200cc segment. Known for its aggressive styling and sharp
performance, it delivers a true streetfighter experience.
Powered by a 199.5cc liquid-cooled engine producing 25 PS, the Duke
200 offers strong acceleration and impressive top-end performance,
making it ideal for spirited riding.
Engine & Refinement
The engine is tuned for performance, offering a punchy mid-range and
strong top-end. While vibrations are present at higher RPMs, they are
expected in this segment and do not significantly impact usability.
The 6-speed gearbox is smooth and precise, complemented by an assist
and slipper clutch that reduces fatigue during aggressive riding and
improves downshifting stability.
Ride & Handling
The lightweight chassis and WP APEX suspension setup give the Duke 200
exceptional handling. It feels nimble in city traffic and confident on
twisty roads.
At 159 kg, the bike strikes a good balance between agility and
stability, making it suitable for both beginners and experienced
riders.
Braking Performance
The 300 mm front disc with radial caliper and 230 mm rear disc offer
strong stopping power. Supermoto ABS allows riders to disable rear ABS
for more control during aggressive riding.
Overall braking performance is excellent and inspires confidence even
at higher speeds.
Fuel Efficiency & Range
The KTM 200 Duke delivers around 35 km/l in real-world conditions,
which is reasonable considering its performance-oriented nature.
With a 13.5-litre fuel tank, it offers a riding range of approximately
469 km.
Comfort & Ergonomics
The upright yet sporty riding position offers a good mix of comfort
and control. However, the firm seat and aggressive posture may not
suit long-distance touring.
Overall, the KTM 200 Duke is best suited for riders who prioritize
performance and style over comfort and fuel efficiency.
