Suzuki V-Strom SX Expert Review
The Suzuki V-Strom SX is designed as an entry-level adventure tourer
that combines road-focused dynamics with mild off-road ability. Built
on Suzuki’s proven 250cc platform, it aims to deliver comfort,
efficiency, and touring practicality for Indian conditions.
It stands out with its ADV-inspired styling, tall stance, and 19-inch
front wheel, which makes it more capable than standard street bikes
when tackling uneven roads.
Engine & Refinement
The 249cc oil-cooled engine produces 26.5 PS of power and feels smooth
and refined across the rev range. It is tuned for linear power
delivery, making it easy to ride in both city and highway conditions.
Vibrations are well controlled, especially at cruising speeds, making
it a comfortable long-distance machine.
Ride & Handling
Thanks to its long wheelbase and 19-inch front wheel, the V-Strom SX
offers excellent stability at high speeds. It handles rough roads and
potholes better than most bikes in this segment.
However, at low speeds, the 167 kg kerb weight can feel slightly heavy
in city traffic.
Braking Performance
The bike comes equipped with dual-channel ABS and a 300 mm front disc,
offering strong and predictable braking.
Rear braking is adequate with a 220 mm disc, providing balanced
stopping performance.
Fuel Efficiency & Range
With an ARAI-claimed mileage of 36 km/l, the V-Strom SX is fairly
efficient for a 250cc motorcycle.
Combined with a 12-litre fuel tank, it offers a riding range of over
400 km, making it suitable for long rides.
Comfort & Ergonomics
The upright seating position, wide handlebars, and well-padded seat
make it highly comfortable for long journeys.
Overall, the Suzuki V-Strom SX is a practical and versatile touring
motorcycle that delivers strong value for riders prioritizing comfort
and reliability.
